CG Schmidt awarded Monroe Clinic project

Published: July 31, 2007

CG Schmidt Inc.’s recently opened Madison office is getting off on the right foot.
The Milwaukee-based company was recently awarded the construction management services contract for Monroe Clinic’s modernization and renovation building plan. The project will be built in Monroe on the existing campus and managed out of CG Schmidt’s new Madison office.
Monroe Clinic’s master facility plan includes a building project estimated between $50 million and $60 million that will connect the existing hospital and clinic building. It also includes renovation and modernization of space within the hospital. The project will consolidate space for a number of programs, including digestive health, surgery, family birth and heart health centers.
“We are pleased to provide our statewide health care construction expertise to a new client focused on the most innovative ways to help the patients they treat and the communities they serve,” said Dan Davis, CG Schmidt’s Senior Vice President of Healthcare Construction, in a statement.
Davis also said the project will make a nice debut for the company’s capital city operations.
“This is an exciting time for CG Schmidt,” he said. “Our efforts to bring sophisticated pre-construction services to clients and communities all over Wisconsin are coming to fruition.”
Monroe Clinic’s conceptual plan is anticipated to continue into fall, with construction beginning later this year or early next. Work on the existing facility will continue through 2010.
CG Schmidt also recently won the contract for Monroe Clinic’s new branch clinic in the village of Albany, Wis. The project will be approximately 5,000-square-feet and includes sustainable building standards. The new clinic is in its final design phase and is scheduled for occupancy in early 2008.
