The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce is asking the state to do more research on whether to tear down or rebuild the Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee.
The Hoan Bridge, which is the roadway for Interstate 794, is slated for reconstruction by 2013. After hearing a presentation on Wednesday about the need to reconstruct or replace the Hoan Bridge, the association sent Gov. Jim Doyle a letter urging the state study the project as soon as possible. The MMAC said all options should be considered, including rebuilding the bridge as-is, replacing it in the same area with a new design or relocating the Interstate 794 corridor to a different footprint.
