State Sens. Jim Holperin, D-Conover, and Mark Miller, D-Monona, will hold an informational hearing on proposed shore land protection rules Sept. 3 in Three Lakes.

The proposed rules are revisions of rules that have been in place for several decades, but have become outdated. The proposed rules retain many requirements, such as the 75-foot setback, but add new ones such as specifying the number of square feet on lake lots where rainwater must be able to seep into the ground.
