His responsibilities include preparing architectural and structural engineering documents, assisting with design computations and quantity estimates and assisting with preparation or modification of reports and specifications. Guse has an associate degree of applied science in the architectural technician program from Madison Area Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in the recreational leadership program from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Shane Riphenburg is a mechanical-plumbing designer on the architecture and building engineering team. His responsibilities include assisting with preparation of plans, specifications and other documents for building projects. He has an associate degree in computer-aided design drafting from Herzing College of Technology.
Kamal Gautam is a civil engineer specializing in hydropower on the water resources team. He has more than 15 years of experience in design and construction management of hydropower, water resources, roads and railroad engineering projects. Gautam has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Odessa Civil Engineering Institute, a master’s degree in hydraulic engineering from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education and a doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Hawaii.
Michael Lynch is an architectural computer-aided design technician in the architecture and building engineering group. His responsibilities include preparing computer-aided design drawings and working with project teams to resolve design issues. Lynch also will assist with construction administration, design computations and quantity estimates, and preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans and schedules.
Scott Brabender is a mechanical engineer in the architecture and building engineering group. His responsibilities include assisting with load calculations, sizing and selecting mechanical equipment and preparation of construction documentation for building projects. Brabender has a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Colleen Herron is a mechanical engineer in the architecture and building group. She has experience with design, project management and construction administration. Herron has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University.
Catherine Wilson is a computer-aided design technician. Her responsibilities include assisting engineering and planning staff members with projects related to airports, highways, bridges and site design. Wilson has an associate degree in engineering from Clark College and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Portland State University.
Andy Olson is a senior airport planner on the aviation team. His responsibilities include managing facility and environmental projects, organizing and attending client and public meetings and researching aviation issues for client projects. Olson has a bachelor’s degree in history from Saint John’s University and a master’s degree in Latin American studies and master’s degree in community and regional planning from the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque.

Amy McNally completed state of Wisconsin and American Institute of Architects requirements for licensure as a registered architect. She has a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Strang Inc. named Larry Barton president. He has been with Strang 25 years, designing corporate office, science and technology, higher education, health care, municipal and religious facilities. Barton’s projects include Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall, City Center West, Madison Area Technical College and Monona State Bank.
