Royal Construction Inc., Eau Claire, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on Jan. 23 to reduce a $450 scaffolding citation to $0 and a $1,125 fall-protection citation to $787. The company and OSHA also agreed to dismiss a $900 scaffolding citation. The company was issued the citations Jan. 2 during a nonresidential building job at 809 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire.
Bauman Construction of Chippewa Falls Inc., Chippewa Falls, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on Jan. 27 to reduce a $3,000 steel-erection-training citation to $750. The company was issued the citation Jan. 2 during a nonresidential building job in Roberts.
Badger Chimney Service, Racine, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on Jan. 28 to reduce a $1,500 scaffolding-training citation to $750 and three scaffolding citations, totaling $3,000, to $1,500. The company was issued the citations Dec. 23 during a masonry job at 3063 N. Main St., Racine.
GRD Masonry LLC, Chetek, paid a $600 head-protection citation and a $1,500 scaffolding citation Feb. 2. The company was issued the citations Nov. 17 during a masonry job at 2982 Commercial Blvd., Chippewa Falls.
SPE Inc., Little Chute, reached a formal settlement with OSHA on Feb. 23 to pay a $2,500 structural-steel-assembly citation and to reduce a $1,250 self-propelled-elevating-platform citation to $1,000 and a $2,500 steel-erection-fall-protection citation to $1,000. The company was issued the citations July 30, 2008, during a roofing job in Sussex.
Legan Construction, Janesville, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on April 28 to reduce a $1,600 fall-protection citation to $640 and a $1,600 fall-protection-training citation to $640. The company was issued the citations April 3 during a roofing job at 2217 E. Heubbe Parkway, Beloit.
Pfeffer Home Improvement LLC, Columbus, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 4 to reduce a $600 scaffolding-training citation to $420 and four scaffolding citations, totaling $2,400, to $1,680. The company was issued the citations April 10 during a finishing job at 1028 Ludington St., Columbus.
C&L Rivera Contractors LLC, Racine, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 5 to reduce a $750 aerial-lifts citation to $300 and a $600 scaffolding citation to $300. The company was issued the citations April 8 during siding jobs in Waukesha and Glendale.
Fred J. Piette Co. Inc., Appleton, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 6 to reduce a $1,000 general-safety-and-health-provisions citation to $500 and a $4,000 fall-protection citation to $2,400. The company was issued the citations March 27 during a nonresidential building job at 2301 S. Main St., Rice Lake.
Wenger Roofing and Sheet Metal, Campbellsport, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 7 to reduce a $1,750 fall-protection citation to $875. The company was issued the citation April 21 during a roofing job in Fond du Lac.
Travis J. Schneider Drywall LLC, Stanley, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 12 to reduce a $1,500 fall-protection citation to $900 and a $750 fall-protection-training citation to $0. The company was issued the citations April 24 during a drywall and insulation job at 315 Riverfront Terrace, Eau Claire.
Alpine Insulation Co. Inc., Sheboygan, reached an informal settlement with OSHA on May 13 to pay a $3,500 fall-protection citation and reduce a $3,500 fire-protection citation to $500, a $1,400 electrical-wiring-methods citation to $0 and a $2,450 stairways citation to $0. The company and OSHA also agreed to dismiss a $2,450 stairways citation and a $3,500 fall-protection citation. The company was issued the citations April 21 during a specialty-trade job at 16415 Wisconsin Ave., Brookfield.
