The fate has been sealed on an old warehouse building on Milwaukee’s west side.

Back in February, I announced a development “wish-list” for a vacant warehouse building listed for sale at 2601 W. Clybourn St. It had been offered for sale by Dufek Realty LLC of Milwaukee.

After seeing this structure to and from work for several months, I got to thinking about redevelopment opportunities there. A community center, a dinner theater, a pub, and antique mall were some of my reinvestment ideas. But the best use would finally come from Marquette University.

Situated close to the university, the 20,070-square-foot building will be utilized as an equipment maintenance shop for Marquette. The building was sold for about $17,000 under the $1 million asking price.
