Wisconsin Constructors awarded I-94 work west of airport

Wisconsin Constructors LLC has been awarded a contract for Interstate 94 work between College and Howard avenues in Milwaukee west of General Mitchell International Airport.

State Highway Project, Milwaukee County

Wisconsin Constructors — which consists of Lunda Construction Co., Black River Falls; Edgerton Contractors Inc., Oak Creek; and Michaels Corp., Brownsville — bid $162,465,471.31 for the job. Walsh Construction Co., Chicago, bid $162,996,097.34 and I-94 Contractors LLC, Oak Creek, was the highest bidder at 168,777,474.09.

The project includes construction work on 16 bridges, seven noise barrier walls, 28 retaining walls, 54 sign bridges, storm sewers, pavement, curb and gutter, utilities and concrete barriers.

Lunda was also part of the Milwaukee Constructors team that worked on the Zoo Interchange west of Milwaukee. For that project, Lunda combined resources with Edward Kraemer & Sons Inc., Plain, and Zenith Tech Inc., Waukesha.
