MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State environmental officials are urging people to contact them for advice on repairs after flooding struck western and south-central Wisconsin last month.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, people who need to reinstall flood-damaged culverts and bridges can call the agency for immediate advice on culvert sizing and other issues.

DNR officials say rushed and improper repairs can lead to more washouts in the next flood. They say anyone looking to replace any bridge or culvert larger than 24 inches should contact the agency.
