Bids in for Wade Historic Site
The Wisconsin Department of Administration received and opened bids Thursday for construction of a new 37,800-square-foot Wade Visitor Center and Wesley Jung Carriage Museum at the Wade Historic Site on Highway 23 in Greenbush in Sheboygan County.
The architect is Uihlein Wilson Architects Inc., Milwaukee.
The state listed the construction cost estimate for this project at $8,200,000.
Here is a brief rundown of the apparent low bidders: The Boldt Co., Appleton, is the only company that submitted a bid for the entire project at $7,525,000. And the apparent low bidders for the individual work categories (base bids only) are Howard Immel Inc., Green Bay, for the general construction work at $4,468,632; Fireline Sprinkler Corp., Appleton, for the Fire Suppression work at $193,000; Portside Plumbing & Mechanical LLP, Sheboygan, for the plumbing work at $189,700; J & H Heating Inc., Port Washington, for the HVAC work at $1,107,382; and Specht Electric Co. Inc., Fond du Lac, for the electrical work at $807,829.
Plus there are quite a few alternate bids, especially for the general work, that may or may not affect the contract award outcome.
A complete listing of all the base bids for this project is posted on our JobTrac online service and will appear in The Daily Reporter on Monday.
