DEWITT, Iowa (AP) – Authorities say an 82-year-old man has been killed in a rock crushing machine at a quarry in eastern Iowa.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to Anderson Quarry in DeWitt a little after 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The sheriff’s office says an employee reported seeing co-worker Bruce Anderson, of DeWitt, standing near where rock enters the machine. The co-worker left the area and didn’t see Anderson upon returning.
Another worker arrived and found Anderson’s body in the crusher.
The U.S. Department of Labor is investigating.
