Madison, WI (AP) – Recall elections have been ordered against four Republican Wisconsin state senators.
The Government Accountability Board on Friday approved setting the recall elections for May 8 unless a primary is necessary. If so, that would be May 8 and the general election would be June 5.
One of the targeted senators, Pam Galloway of Wausau, resigned earlier this month. However, the recall election will proceed to fill her now vacant seat.
The other three targeted incumbents are Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau, Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls and Van Wanggaard of Racine.
The Senate is currently evenly split 16-16 between Republicans and Democrats. The recalls will determine which party has control, but the Legislature is adjourned for the year.
