PEORIA, Ill. (AP) – Caterpillar workers who are on strike at a plant in Joliet have picketed the company’s Peoria headquarters.
The Herald-News in Joliet reports that Friday’s action is the second information picket for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. The union represents 780 workers at Joliet who went on strike May 1. Members of the Machinists union have overwhelmingly rejected two contract proposals from the company. Caterpillar has said it has negotiated in good faith.

Union steward Sean Gallaway said organizers are hoping “to bring a little more public awareness.”
Earlier this week Caterpillar started advertising for replacement workers to fill in for the striking Joliet workers.
