Southbound traffic on Highway 57 in Fredonia south of County Trunk H is being diverted onto the road’s shoulder as a Wisconsin Department of Transportation crew works to repair a buckle in the pavement.
The buckle occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Mike Pyritz, a WisDOT spokesman.
Crews need about three hours to repair a buckle, which is generally done by removing the broken pavement and applying a temporary patch. Pyritz said the repairs should be completed by 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Pyritz said another buckle on Highway 57 was reported at about 4:45 p.m. That buckle is located between Fredonia and Saukville where County Trunk W merges with the highway. That buckle is affecting both north- and southbound lanes of traffic.
