A Walworth County Public Works Department employee on Monday was killed while working on a highway project.
The employee was part of a crew doing sealing work on County Highway J in the town of Troy, said Walworth County Administrator David Bretl. The employee was hit by a county highway truck at 9:45 a.m., he said.
The Sheriff’s Office, Troy Fire Department, East Troy Area Rescue, Mukwonago Fire and Rescue and Milwaukee Flight for Life responded to the accident, according to a Walworth County news release.
The employee was pronounced dead at the scene, Bretl said.
The county is not releasing the man’s name or releasing any additional information until family members have been notified, Bretl said. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident, he said.

ZOMG! Pretty, “Jenny”? I guess Rachel rightfully expects a degree of professionalism from a professional writer, especially in reporting a death. Letting grammar boners like the above go uncalled just enables anti-literacy.

“A Walworth County Public Works Department employee on Monday was killed while working on a highway project.”
Really, Kirsten? You could at least honor the man with some correct grammar.
