Long-term closures on Interstate 43 are expected to begin the week of Feb. 11, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation news release.

A single northbound lane closure from Howard Avenue to the Marquette Interchange will start Tuesday and move north throughout the project until it reaches the north end of the Valley Bridge.

The Howard and Holt avenues northbound entrance ramp, Mineral and Walker streets northbound entrance ramp and National Avenue exit ramp will also be closed.

The project is expected to be complete in time for Summerfest, according to the release.

Southbound I-43 lanes from Lapham Boulevard to Howard Avenue, exit ramp to Holt Avenue and access to Interstate 794 from Oklahoma Avenue at Ellen Street will also see closures as the project progresses.

Zenith Tech Inc., Waukesha, is the project’s contractor, according to the release.

Closure updates will be available at www.511wi.gov.
