MADISON (AP) — The construction industry topped the list for inquiries with the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau last year.
According to the BBB in its annual report for 2012, roofing contractors accounted for the most requests for information followed by construction and remodeling services, heating and air conditioning and auto repair and service.
Bureau spokeswoman Kimberly Hazen said it received 1.7 million inquiries about businesses last year, a 20 percent increase from 2011. Hazen said the higher number of inquiries before work was done led to 1,000 fewer complaints.
Consumers can file inquiries and complaints online or by phone.
