The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is collecting comments on the plan to issue an air permit to the proposed Pabst Farms Town Centre in Oconomowoc.
The proposed 121-acre, 1.07-million-square-foot retail project needs the permit for the car traffic it would generate. Wisconsin projects that create more than 1,000 new parking spaces must get an air permit. The Town Centre would have 5,300 parking spaces.
The DNR has written a draft permit for the project and will accept public comments until July 6. A DNR public hearing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Oconomowoc Community Center at 324 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Oconomowoc.
The Town Centre Developer, DDR/Stonebridge Capital Unit I LLC, Wilmington, Del., is moving forward with the project development even though the slow retail market has hampered progress, said Thad Nation, Pabst Farms spokesman.
