SCHOFIELD, Wis. (AP) — A small chemical explosion at about 9:25 a.m. Tuesday at a central Wisconsin company sent one man to the hospital. Two others were treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
According to an Everest Metro Police Department official, the 31-year-old man was severely injured as employees were stripping paint at Quality Surface Processing and excess heat triggered the explosion in Schofield.
Everest Metro and Schofield fire departments responded.
Fire crews tell WAOW-TV there’s minimal damage to the building.
