Gov. Jim Doyle on Thursday signed a bill into law requiring a license to practice landscape architecture in Wisconsin.

A looming change in state licensing-exam requirements for architects may wipe out the value of Wisconsin colleges’ two-year architecture-training programs.

Wisconsin’s procedure for licensing professional engineers is, at least according to one state lawmaker, “suspect.”
