Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday approved a $1.45 million project to improve airfield safety, pavement and fencing at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation news release.
Milwaukee County and the state will each contribute $827,500 to a $6.6 million project to repave part of the main runway intersection at General Mitchell International Airport, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will close the westbound lanes of the Airport Spur in Milwaukee starting Monday.
