The announcement Friday that Wisconsin has “surpassed its aggressive energy efficiency goal” to weatherize residential units for low-income tenants reminded me of the many projects bid through the Wisconsin Division of State facilities that contributed to achieving this goal.

There was a moment in time during the 2011 Wisconsin legislative process that many statewide DMV offices were in danger of being closed. But then the new voter ID law was approved, requiring Wisconsin voters, starting in 2012, to show a driver’s license or ID issued by the state.
