Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce on Tuesday circulated a petition with 2,100 signatures from business executives opposing the current budget.

Compared to other states, Wisconsin has never had much in terms of programs that offer cash to companies to expand or move to the state, Haney said. Businesses are not spending much effort trying to create new ones this year because the proposed state budget raising red flags with proposals to expand the use of prevailing wage, open the possibility of greater legal liability for companies and raise taxes on capital gains, he said.
