Dane County leaders Wednesday applauded the Wisconsin Department of Commerce’s approval of Community Development Block Grant money for sewer system upgrades in Morrisonville.
The total cost of the improvements is nearly $1.3 million. The upgrades and repairs will help reduce the risk of significant water and sewer back-ups in basements, a problem residents experienced after heavy rains last year.
Dane County will contribute $243,000 in CDBG money to assist with the project. The remainder of the money needed to complete the work will be covered by the Wisconsin Small Cities Community Development Block-Emergency Assistance public facilities program.
