Milwaukee aldermen to consider budget on Friday (2:50 p.m. 11/5/09)

The Milwaukee Common Council on Friday will meet to approve the 2010 city budget.

Aldermen will review their version of the budget, which as been hammered out over the past month based on the budget Mayor Tom Barrett proposed in late September.

Alderman passed 33 amendments to Barrett’s proposal, resulting in a $1.4 billion budget relying on $247.4 million in a local property tax levy and the rest coming from fees and state and federal sources.
