Dane County clean air action extended through Wednesday

The Dane County Clean Air Coalition will extend its Clean Air Action Day alert for fine particle pollution through Wednesday.

A Clean Air Action Day is triggered when the state Department of Natural Resources issues an air quality watch for Dane County. The initial watch and resulting Clean Air Action Day on Tuesday was announced during the weekend, but was then extended because weather conditions such as light winds and high relative humidity are forecast to continue.

The county asks residents to take actions that reduce emissions, such as not letting vehicle engines idle, as well as carpooling and reducing trips.
