Lawmakers ask ORRI for stimulus reporting answers

State Reps. Rich Zipperer, R-Pewaukee, and Phil Montgomery, R-Green Bay, on Wednesday announced they are seeking letters on stimulus job reporting from the state’s Office of Recovery and Reinvestment.

The lawmakers sent a letter to ORRI Director Chris Patton seeking answers on data relating to private sector job creation and reporting accuracy.

Montgomery and Zipperer last week asked the Joint Committee on Finance to hold a public hearing on the same issues.

“News accounts have highlighted multiple errors and inaccuracies in the jobs data being reported for Wisconsin,” Zipperer said in a press release. “Taxpayers deserve an honest answer to how their money is being spent, and whether that spending is achieving the intended results.”
