MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A seventh Republican hoping to take on incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen of Appleton plans to officially launch his campaign on Tuesday.
State Rep. Roger Roth plans to make campaign stops in Appleton and Green Bay. Roth has already sent out a fundraising letter and has a campaign Web site.
The 31-year-old Roth is a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard and recently returned from Iraq. He was first elected to the state Assembly in 2006 and is the nephew of former U.S. Rep. Toby Roth who served in Congress for 18 years leaving in 1997.
Other Republicans intending to run are former state Rep. Terri McCormick, roofing contractor Reid Ribble, Door County board supervisor Marc Savard, Brown County Supervisory Andy Williams, Kerry Thomas of Sayner, and Marc Trager of Howard.
