Orion Energy Systems Inc. will build a wind turbine in spring 2010 outside of its headquarters building in Manitowoc.
The turbine, which the Manitowoc Common Council approved on Monday, will generate 20 kilowatts of power, enough to power four or five houses.
The electricity generated by the turbine will power Orion’s manufacturing building and technology center.
The 115-foot turbine will be manufactured by Oshkosh-based Renewegy LLC.
