Opus North Corp. under new ownership

Rosemont, Ill.-based design-build and real estate development company Opus North Corp. is under new ownership, according to a press release from the company.

Formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Minnetonka, Minn.-based Opus Corp., Opus North was purchased on Dec. 18 by Minneapolis-based Opus Holding Inc.

Under its former ownership, Opus North was one of five regional companies. Now, it is the sole design-build and real estate development company under Opus Holding Inc. Opus North will continue to work on projects throughout the Midwest with a focus on design-build services and real estate development. The company currently has offices in Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Columbus.

Last fall, Opus North began work on a new College of Engineering facility while also completing a new 128,000-square-foot student services/administration building, Zilber Hall. This summer, Opus North will finish the new Marquette University Law School, Ray & Kay Eckstein Hall, according to the release.

Last year, Opus North also opened Phase I of The Shoppes at Fox River, a 54-acre, 500,000-square-foot shopping center in Waukesha and expanded Yaskawa Electric America for an additional 32,540 square feet from the original 107,152 square feet of space at Oakwood Crossings Business Center in Oak Creek, the release said.
