State Sen. Ted Kanavas, R-Brookfield, announced Monday he will not seek a third term in the Wisconsin Senate.
Kanavas was first elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in a July 2001 special election. At the completion of this term, he will have served two full terms.
In a press release, Kanavas said he is confident he will be adequately replaced in the Senate and in his district.
“Republicans will enjoy great victories this fall,” he said in the release, “and I anticipate Republicans in the state Senate coming back in the majority.”
