Waukesha tool manufacturer to expand

Gov. Jim Doyle on Friday announced the state will give $300,000 in tax credits to Walter USA LLC for a $2.7-million expansion project in Waukesha.

The tool manufacturer’s parent company is closing a plant in Madison Heights, Mich., and moving the operation to its Waukesha office. The company will expand its Waukesha building and add 46 new jobs.

The state is giving the company economic development tax credits, and incentive the state used to lure Republic Airways to Milwaukee, and keep Mercury Marine in Fond du
Lac, and Oshkosh Corp. in Oshkosh.
