Military, Oshkosh Corp. ink $410 million deal for trucks

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — The defense arm of Oshkosh Corp. has received a Pentagon order for more than 2,600 military trucks in a deal worth more than $410 million.

Oshkosh Defense said Monday the vehicles are scheduled to be delivered between March and December of next year.

The trucks are part of an armored family of vehicles for transporting U.S. Army troops and supplies. They can be used on both Iraqi and Afghani battlefields, and some models can haul as much as 10 tons.

The deal is the latest in a string of high-priced military awards for the Oshkosh-based company. In the last year or so it has received contracts worth about $4 billion for thousands of mine-resistant trucks and spare parts.
