Construct “Adventure Pool” at the Kettle Moraine YMCA, 1111 W. Washington St., West Bend

Patrons of the Kettle Moraine YMCA will soon be enjoying a new indoor swimming pool now that an anonymous donor has offered $1.35 million toward the $3.98 million construction cost.

The Final Splash fundraiser has recently been announced by the top fundraising co-chairs, Rick Leitheiser, president of M & I Bank of West Bend, and Kevin Steiner, CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance Co.

Designed by architects from Zimmerman Architectural Studios Inc., Glendale, the pool will be under roof in a 14,000-square-foot building attached to the existing YMCA at 1111 West Washington St. in West Bend.

The pool project, known as Adventure Pool, will offer two enclosed flume slides along with play apparatus.

General construction work has been assigned to Horizon Construction Group of Madison. Horizon expects construction late in the year, depending on fund-raising efforts.
