MILWAUKEE (AP) — A downtown Milwaukee parking garage remains closed while an investigation continues into how a 30-foot concrete slab fell off the facade and killed a teenager.
Fencing surrounds the entire O’Donnell parking structure to contain the scene and keep pedestrians safe.
On Tuesday, a piece of the structure will be removed to use in the investigation. Investigators from the Milwaukee County sheriff’s office and the district attorney’s office will be on the scene while the parapet section is removed.
Last Thursday, a 15-year-old boy was killed when the 27,000-pound slab fell on him as he walked out of the parking garage on his way to Summefest. Two other people were hurt.
