Construction at U of M to impact traffic

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — University of Minnesota officials say some construction projects on campus will impact traffic flow in and around the Minneapolis campus.

Starting Tuesday, East River Road will be closed to through traffic from north of Arlington Avenue to the area under the Washington Avenue Bridge. The bike and pedestrian path on the west side of East River Road will also be closed.

Officials say there are construction and utility projects going on.

The work includes the installation of an electrical duct bank and storm sewer, traffic improvements associated with the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit line, and the stabilization of the Mississippi River Bank.

Detour signs will be posted.
