Contractor drops out of congressional race

SISTER BAY, Wis. (AP) — Republican Mark Savard has dropped out of 8th District congressional race.

Savard said Monday he doesn’t have the money or staff to continue in the race. Savard farms in Door County and is a painting contractor.

Savard is supporting Kaukauna businessman Reid Ribble. Other Republicans in the race include state Rep. Roger Roth and former state Rep. Terri McCormick.

Two-term Democratic incumbent Rep. Steve Kagen faces no primary challenge.
