Investigators say pallet fire is arson

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Federal investigators have confirmed a fire at a Sheboygan County pallet company was intentionally set.

Sheriff Michael Helmke said Tuesday a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest for the arson at Lakeshore Pallet.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives spokeswoman Lori Dyer said arson cases are usually solved with help from the public, unless there’s very clear physical evidence.

From the beginning, authorities suspected arson was the cause of last Wednesday’s fire.

  1. How can they determine it was arson? I mean it may be easy to prove that it was lit deliberately, but arson means it was someone from the actual company that lit it – couldn’t it be a simple case of vandalism?
