Wisconsin had a pair of projects land on what the government is calling “100 Recovery Act Projects That Are Changing America.” Vice President Joe Biden released the report Friday.

Here’s the two Wisconsin projects (OK, so only one is actually based in Wisconsin):

• The reconstruction of I-94 south of Milwaukee ranked 10th among the top 100 most effective federal stimulus projects.

The report calls the I-94 stretch between the Wis./Ill. border and Milwaukee “one of the busiest north?south freeway corridors in Wisconsin,” and states “traffic on certain sections is expected to increase by 38 percent in the next 25 years.”

The $94 million, 35-mile reconstruction project employs 70-100 construction workers per day, according to the report.

“This project also includes a unique Pre?Apprenticeship Training program which provides local workers in Racine and Kenosha with job training and introductions to prospective employers,” according to the report.

• The Streator Cayuga Ridge wind park in Livingston County, Ill., a 150?turbine project that will generate 300 megawatts (power for 86,000 homes), is creating jobs and helping to drive local growth, according to the report.

During construction, the wind park created more than 300 jobs. The project (and here comes the Wisconsin part) has also helped preserve jobs at component factories in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

When completed in March 2010, it was the largest wind project in Illinois.
