Berghammer Construction Corp., Butler, and Uihlein Wilson Architects are in the design and development stage of the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley.
Students from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design worked together to create the original design of the 6,000-square-foot project. The students will hold a series of design workshops during the next few months in order to provide them an in-depth view of the process.
The new wood frame structure will match the existing building located along the Hank Aaron State Trail. The goal of the project is to use reclaimed materials whenever possible to enable the UEC to contain a green, sustainable design.
The new center will include classrooms, administrative space and conference rooms.
