Plymouth Arts Center looking at $1.5 million expansion

By Keith Barber

The Plymouth Arts Center is about to get bigger.

The PAC board of directors has officially launched a building campaign to raise money for a $1.5 million expansion. New features will include a gallery retail shop, expanded gallery exhibition wing, a two-classroom education wing, new entrance foyer, two new restrooms, a new serving kitchen, 2,400 square feet of storage space, canopy additions at front and rear entrances and remodeling of the existing complex.

The 1930s-era structure is located at 520 E. Mill St. in downtown Plymouth, and is well known for its Spanish-style facade. The center is currently 8,700 square feet.

The PAC’s mission is to promote the arts, including drama/theater, music and dance, and educational opportunities. Within the PAC, a visual art gallery known as Gallery 110 North, offers space for Wisconsin artists in changing exhibits. Plays and musicals are featured in another section of the center, along with educational classes.

The PAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable membership arts organization established in 1993. To learn more about the center or to contribute to the fundraising efforts, call Donna Hahn, executive director, at (920) 892-8409, e-mail her at paf@excel.net, or visit the PAC website.
