FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (AP) — Firefighters remain at the scene of a massive fire that destroyed a garden center and caused hundreds to evacuate in a southern Wisconsin community.
Fort Atkinson Fire Capt. Mike Reel said firefighters continue to pour water on hot spots Thursday at the Blodgett Garden Center.
The Fireside theater, a motel and a gas station were evacuated after the fire broke out Wednesday afternoon.
Owner Jack Blodgett said contractors were working with propane torches at the garden center when some straw caught fire.
No one was hurt.
