Milwaukee County Board Chairman Lee Holloway appointed Supervisor Patricia Jursik on Friday to serve as county representative for the Milwaukee Gateway Aerotropolis Corp.
The Milwaukee County Board approved a resolution at its Sept. 30 meeting to join the nonprofit organization seeking to attract businesses to the area surrounding General Mitchell International Airport.
The county will join eight other municipalities — the city of Milwaukee, Cudahy, Franklin, Greendale, Greenfield, Oak Creek, South Milwaukee and St. Francis — as well as Barry Bateman, director of General Mitchell, and Port of Milwaukee officials. Private business partners will also serve on the board.
The Aerotropolis group will hold its first meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Sijan-Lovell Conference Rooms behind the Gallery of Flight at General Mitchell.
