OAK CREEK, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Jim Doyle has announced $20 million in state tax credits to help South Milwaukee-based Bucyrus International Inc. expand its operations.
The Democratic governor said Tuesday the assistance would help create 515 jobs in the Milwaukee area.
Bucyrus is expected to use the money to consolidate and expand its operations in nearby Oak Creek. The maker of heavy-duty mining equipment will invest $44 million in the project.
The announcement comes less than a week after a federal bank reversed itself, agreeing to approve loan guarantees for a $600 million deal with an Indian power company.
