More than 55 employers looking to hire for 700 jobs will be on hand for a job fair at the Wisconsin State Fair on Nov. 4, according to Patrick Schloss, the community development manger.

Schloss said the idea for the job fair developed when a heavy industry manufacturer in the city approached Mayor Dan Devine for assistance in hiring for 30 new positions. Devine had the community development office contact other potential employers.

The jobs range from engineering positions to seasonal sales jobs. Schloss said. Some of the companies participating are the Waterstone Group Inc., Rexnord Corp., Manpower Inc. and Quad/Graphics Inc., he said.

The event is co-sponsored by the city, the West Allis Chamber of Commerce and the Milwaukee Area Technical College.

The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 4 in the Tommy Thompson Youth Center, 640 S. 84th St.
