MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is touring the Talgo train-making facility in Milwaukee on Monday.

Last week, the company said it would keep about 60 workers and convert its Milwaukee rail car factory into a maintenance facility. The move would likely help cover the tens of millions of dollars of the estimated cost of canceling a planned high-speed rail line between Milwaukee and Madison.

Barrett will tour the facility with Talgo President Antonio Perez followed by a discussion with Talgo workers.

Barrett spokesman Jeff Fleming said they are trying to build a relationship with the company and show other companies the area is a good place to do business.
