Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday suspended a visit to the west side of the state, including a planned tour of Silver Springs Food, so he could visit his mother, Pat Walker, “who is in the hospital for medical tests,” the governor’s office said.
With both the Senate and Assembly still adjourned, it’s been a sleepy 24 hours in Madison.
We do, however, know when Walker’s first State of the State address will come: Jan. 25. The governor is sure to deliver a message similar to his inaugural address in which he touted job creation as the No. 1 priority for 2011.
Walker’s office also on Wednesday detailed the governor’s plan for a business tax cut, drawing praise from the National Federation of Independent Business.
Otherwise, not much else has happened. We do, of course, send best wishes to Mrs. Walker, the governor and the entire family.
