Racine to host town hall meeting on workers’ rights Monday

A town hall meeting on workers’ rights will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday in Racine.

The town hall meeting, which is open to the public, was called in response to Gov. Scott Walker’s recent proposal to eliminate collective bargaining rights for working families across Wisconsin, including thousands in Racine County.

State Reps. Cory Mason, D-Racine, and Bob Turner, D-Racine, and Racine Mayor John Dickert will hear constituents’ thoughts, comments and concerns with the measure, according to a news release. They will be joined via phone by state Sen. Bob Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie, who will offer an update on discussions between Walker and the state Senate.

The meeting will be held at the Racine Labor Center, 2100 Layard Ave., Racine.
