MADISON, Wis. (AP) — All 16 Wisconsin state senators eligible to be recalled now have at least one active committee targeting them for removal.
The Government Accountability Board received paperwork Tuesday from committees to recall Democratic Sen. Julie Lassa of Stevens Point and Sen. Lena Taylor of Milwaukee. With both committees approved by GAB, all 16 eligible senators are now targeted for recall by officially recognized committees.
There are 19 active recall committees. Multiple committees are targeting Democratic Sens. Robert Wirch of Kenosha, Dave Hansen of Green Bay and Mark Miller of Monona.
The recall petitions targeting the eight Republicans must be turned in by May 2. Those targeting the eight Democrats range from late April to mid-May. The dates are based on when the paperwork was officially filed.
