WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) — Another public hearing on Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s state budget proposal will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis.
The Joint Committee on Finance started in Stevens Point last week with the public hearings. Lawmakers are holding four around the state; another is planned for Neenah on Wednesday.
WTMJ-TV reports that several unions had planned events, including an afternoon protest outside the hearing at State Fair Park in a Milwaukee suburb.
Following the public hearings the committee will return to Madison where it will begin work on making changes to Walker’s budget before sending it on to the Senate and Assembly.
