MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Dane County’s first female executive will step down Monday after 14 years on the job.
Kathleen Falk says now that two key initiatives have passed, it’s time to go. She cites her efforts to curb alcohol abuse and the construction of the county’s first manure digester, which keeps the lakes clean and produces green energy.
The 59-year-old Falk filed one of the earliest open meetings complaints against Republican lawmakers who passed Gov. Scott Walker’s budget repair bill on March 9. A judge recently ruled Falk did not have standing.
The Capital Times says Falk’s advice for her successor Joe Parisi? Work on the problems that matter the most.
